Contacting Tip Fiber-Optic Probes
Our Fiber-optic Probes with Contacting Tips are designed to achieve a more refined intensity measurement. The intensity response of a Sensor is influenced by several factors, including brightness and size of the LED under test, the aperture of the Fiber-optic Probe that is being used to test the LED, and the distance between the LED and the Fiber-optic Probe tip.
Our Fiber-optic Probes with Contacting Tips feature an insulated plastic ‘shrouded’ tip, which makes contact with the LED under test – protecting the optical fiber and the LED, yet ensuring a repeatable consistent distance between the LED and the Fiber-optic Probe. The stainless-steel casings of the Fiber-optic Probe are spring-loaded and retract, enabling the Fiber-optic Probe’s tip to remain in contact with the LED within the fixture.
The Fiber-optic Probes with Contacting Tips are available in two types:
Flexible Fiber-optic Probes with Contacting Tips
Flexible Fiber-optic Probes with Contacting Tips are available with regular, superflex or rugged cabling.
Rigid Fiber-optic Probes with Contacting Tips
Rigid Fiber-optic Probes with Contacting Tips are available in Straight or Right Angle models. Rigid models eliminate the need for sensor mounting clamps.
